We’ll miss you!
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:9-10
Our Julie is
heading to South Africa for nine months to help with the “Good News of the Kingdom of God” 2010 Project.
We’ll miss her, but we know, as the verses above say, that, wherever she is, God is with her.
Julie, Kev and Luke met some great Romani kids while in Kosovo for the CBM over Easter.
Last weekend we took a trip up to the North - to Sunderland - to help out at a Christmas concert (the advert above was for it). The library theatre was pack out, and a good time was had by all! There were mince pies, too.
Farewell to Rachel, off to India
We’re bidding a fond but temporary farwell to our member Rachel this month, who will be visiting India for the next 4 months. But this is no Beatles-style hippy trail. She will be working with Christadelphian groups over there with preaching, supporting their work, and helping look after the poor and sick — there are far too many of those in India.
Rachel isn’t the first of our members to spend several months overseas. Sarah spent six months in India too, Sally spent a year in Jamaica before heading to Uganda — where John and Kevin had been living for several months already. John and Sally eventually got married there.
Most of these trips are supported by the Christadelphian Bible Mission, a missionary charity set up to spread the gospel throughout the world.
