Next Travelodge Talk.

Heaven is NOT the Bible’s Reward — an online version of our most recent Travelodge talk. The next talk is planned for June 2nd. More information to follow.
Here’s your chance to hear our own member Kevin Rawlings’ talk “Seeing through the credit crunch”. He talks about how our economy works (or doesn’t work at the moment) and how this contrasts with the principles God wants us to live by. Download the MP3 here: http://is.gd/eJlO or listen using the player above.
Last month we held a talk on Darwin’s Mousetrap by Stephen Ashton. You now have the opportunity to hear it online, if you missed it the first time. Stephen looks at evidence of intelligent design in nature, discussing features of the human body that are tricky for darwinists to explain. You can download the MP3 here: http://is.gd/eDcI
Our next Travelodge talk will take place on Tuesday, 6th January. This time, our own member Kevin Rawlings will talk about Bible teaching on economics, money, and how we can see beyond the financial anxieties that exist today.
Come and listen to our Bible talk on Darwin and evolution on Tuesday, 7.30pm on December 2nd at Walsall Travelodge, Birmingham Road, Walsall.
We were fortunate to have a fascinating talk last Wednesday on “Is the Bible Reliable? — an historian’s perspective”.
John Botten, an experienced history teacher and lecturer, looked at:
- How the Bible compares to other trusted reliable documents
- The weight of evidence for believing the Bible’s record of events
- The amount of non-Biblical evidence to support the key events in Christ’s life
- How early the Biblical gospels were written — particularly that they were written much earlier than the ‘gnostic gospels’ prattled about in the Da Vinci code
- Ways that we can be sure the text has barely altered since the original
- A quick look at key Bible prophecies, predicting recent events long before they happened
The talk was interesting to anybody interested in history, whether a believer or not. If you missed this one, don’t be foolish enough to miss next month’s talk, which looks at the Bible from a scientist’s perspective.
